汉武帝时，苏武出使匈奴被扣押,拒不投降，放逐北海牧羊。汉朝派李陵点兵五千救援，不料李陵轻敌，兵败投降。匈奴单于遂令李陵前去劝降苏武，动之以情。但苏武正气凛然，义正词严，李陵羞愧而回。
