    临淄区种植西红柿、西葫芦历史悠久,土壤肥沃、易于灌溉,富含微量元素,气候适宜、四季分明、日光温和,出产的西红柿、西葫芦品质优、产量高。目前,全区西红柿种植面积近4万亩,生产大棚约3.8万个,年产量达到6亿公斤,年产值突破14亿元,95%以上销往俄罗斯、韩国等多个国家及国内二十多个大中城市。西葫芦种植面积近4万亩,生产大棚约3.9万个,年产量达到6.8亿公斤,年产值突破15亿元,种植面积占到山东省种植面积的70%。
